So I downloaded Vegas Pro 17 to test it out but I found it unnecessary restricted for a trial version! The default 30 days restriction is perfectly fine, and now adding a watermark is also acceptable to me, however limiting the rendering time to only 2 minutes is way too much in my opinion!

There's no limit on project size, you can open big project and see how they perform, you just can't render them rrndering 2 minutes. There's also a refund policy in place as well should that final test fail. With all due respect, this is very stupid reason!! There is already a 30 days restriction on the trail verion after which the software will stop working anyway! To do a full test of the software, I need to render a big project, because sometimes Vegas Pro can render small project with no problem, but struggle or crash when rendering large project.

Vegas Pro never had such stupid restrictions when it was sold by Sony and it was very rendeding and easy to fully test the software for 30 days even with very big project. Just another stupid restriction to make it hard to test Vegas Pro 17! Not completely true. One other restriction that had reneering been applied to trials prior to the MAGIX acquisition which we have chosen not to turn back on is to inject beeps periodically into the audio when trials where running. I have no problem with adding watermark, 30 days restriction, or even injecting beeps periodically into the audio! But the 2 minutes render restriction is way too much and does not alwo anyone to test large project!

And not being able to render a region of 2 minutes just make it even worse! It's more of a Demo than a Trial. Have to be able to test stability with longer renders, for obvious reasons. It seems Magix rendwring not have enough confidence about the stability of Vegas Pro 17 in long projects, thus forcing the stupid 2 minute restriction in rndering trial version which is very bad strategy!

Are the forums filled with posts about render crashes or instability while editing? ;ro hundreds if not thousands by now other users are able to use the software without issue, I'd say it's a rsndering safe bet, and there's a refund policy in case it isn't. I don't necessarily agree with the limitation, a watermark would probably work better, but I can live with it. I don't secure software for a living, so I don't know what the best counter-piracy methods would be.
