I've rolled back successfully yet again to Thanks for the suggestions and let me know updatess this is a reasonable approach before I try the additional steps you suggested. I'm going to leave the wifi a non metered connection for now until I see if the above works. If not, I'll go to metered connection as well but hope the additional changes in Pro work. Would you suggest changing the names of these folders to prevent another upgrade or just leaving it alone for now.
None of the Orchestrator related stuff work anymore. Can't stop the service and permission denied trying to get rid the tasks. Qindows the issue just got worse again.
This morning I took the defer uprates updates off along with pause updates. Windows update indicated that there were updates available so I took off the metered connection to download.
The Microsoft utility confirmed that only v updates were being downloaded and automafic. I set the restart the PC setting for tomorrow.
This afternoon I came back to the PC and found that v had again been installed. It had not been indicated on the Microsoft utility or in any Windows update message. I did find this link which seems to be related to my problem. Does this look like a viable option to try? I'm open to all suggestions as Windows doesn't seem to follow any documented ways to manage or defer updates on my PC. Although I didn't think the registry entry deletion would do any good, I did delete it and restarted the PC.
Amazingly I can now print with my HP printer from any application without an indication of printer driver not valid.
