I would like to know: 1. I did that and it seemed to work. However two days later when I went to shut my pc down it said windows needed to do updates. Sure enough when I started it up it went back into that start up loop once and then I was able to get one.
I have been searching the net and have seen a lot of posts about this virus. I tried downloading malywarebytes as well as AVG both free editions and they did not pick up any virus on the scan.. But I'm sure that it is a virus.
Thanks hope this helps get this thing fixed. Boot from the CD and take a look at your original hard drive. See if your system is on a partition named C:. If the system is on C: and the boot files are looking for D:, you can change C: to D:. If that works I would make a image of the drive and then work on renaming the partition to C: By the way, have you tried changing the SATA cable to the port the 2nd drive was connected to after you disabled raid?
